A full head of hair has always been considered as the ideal of beauty - especially for women. Long, voluminous hair is not only a sign of attractiveness, but also indicates health and youth. But in Germany, one out of ten women suffer from thin or even very thin hair. But that is no reason to despair. NEWSHA tells you the right hacks for more voluminous and well-groomed hair.
HOW DO I KNOW THAT I HAVE FINE HAIR?
Thin hair is very fine, you can hardly feel it between your fingers, and it is as light as silk.
Exactly three tenths of a millimeter distinguish a fine hair from a thick hair. While a hair with a diameter of 0.04 millimeters is considered fine, from over 0.07 millimeters it is already called full hair. People with fine hair also have an advantage: they generally own a lot more of it. Unfortunately, this is not visually noticeable. So must be tricked - with cuts and colors, care and styling products and other "hair hacks".

WHICH STYLES ARE SUITABLE FOR FINE HAIR?
Short haircuts provide more fullness and are therefore the perfect choice. If the hair ends just above the shoulders, this is the ideal length.
Reason for this: Shorter or medium-length hair is lighter. The natural bounce becomes powerful enough to lift the roots and visually create a full head of hair.
PIXIE CUT
The Pixie Cut, a short hairstyle created from a combination of different hair lengths, partly only two to three millimeters long at the sides, is the all-rounder of all short hairstyles. If the pixie cut is styled with hairspray in a messy look, it gets more fullness and looks more casual. The pixie is a real fashion statement and looks ultra-cool!

THE PERFECT COLOR FOR FINE HAIR
In terms of color, it is advisable to choose darker shades. These make the hair look three-dimensional and thick. The balayage method also creates the illusion of even more depth with targeted contrasts, which makes the hair look even fuller. A few strands at the roots give the hair more visual volume.

HOW DO I TAKE CARE OF MY FINE HAIR?
Your hair often tends to become greasy quickly.
Reason: The strands lie closer to the scalp. Is that why you wash your hair every day? Unfortunately, it is counterproductive. Washing your hair every day strips your scalp of its natural oils, which means that residues of care and styling products can build up more quickly.
The result: Limp strands and no trace of the desired volume. Nevertheless, fine hair needs to be washed comparatively often. However, the scalp and the ends of the hair need different care. Even if you tend to have greasy roots quickly, your tips can still be dry. We recommend two different shampoos, a mild but intensively cleansing shampoo for the greasy roots and a moisturizing shampoo for your lengths.

BLOW DRY YOUR FINE HAIR CORRECTLY
When blow-drying, be sure to try the blow-out method! Place a round brush at your hairline, pull the top of your hair upwards with the brush and create volume. Tools such as a diffuser are also recommended. Also, blow dry upside down and against the lengths of your hair.
If you vary the position of the parting when blow-drying, the hairstyle will be fuller in the end. The flattened hair roots straighten up again - this gives the hair new bounce.

FOR fine hair
A good straightener also creates beautiful curls in thin, straight hair, which provide more volume. Conversely, it brings thin, frizzy hair under control and ensures a neat, straight look.
The special feature of a straightener for thin hair is the temperature range it offers. Because fine hair is sensitive to heat, a straightener for fine hair must also offer moderate temperatures. Ideally, the temperature range should begin at 100°C to 130°C. Very high temperatures (significantly over 180°C) are unnecessary for thin hair.
A hair straightener for thin hair does not need to be particularly wide. The more intense heat of a wide straightener is regularly not necessary. Many short hairstyles are very suitable for fine hair. In this case, a narrow straightener is more practical.
Fine hair weighs less and therefore "flies" particularly quickly in all directions when it is static. A straightener with ionic technology can prevent or reduce this effect.
