Split ends are every woman’s worst nightmare. Split ends are more likely to develop in dry or brittle hair and typical causes of damage include high heat settings whilst styling, chemical treatments and day-to-day stresses. If your hair starts to develop split ends, it’s time to start having a closer look at your hair care regime and general treatment of your hair.
The right care: To help reduce friction between strands of hair when brushing we recommend spraying our high-performance leave-in conditioner (2-3 pumps depending on hair length) onto towel-dried hair after every hair wash and combing it as gentle as possible. Go for a deep conditioning treatment 1-2 times a week for an extra portion of care. The Flawless Repair Treatment has been developed for fine to normal hair. It regenerates damaged hair without weighing it down. Our All About Smooth Treatment is the perfect choice for normal to thick hair.
Newsha tip: The NEWSHA Rescue System rebuilds the hair from within and stops hair breaking. The hair instantly appears smoother and healthier. Our Newsha Rescue System is available exclusively at our partner salons .
Hair ties, brushes & Co.: Use brushes and combs without metal bristles. Feel free to tie your hair back every now and then, as this will reduce friction from clothing. If tying your hair up, always use hair ties without metal fasteners and tie your hair in different places to avoid damage.
Natural Drying, blow-drying & straightening: While your hair is wet it is at its most fragile. Don't rub hair excessively with a towel. Use our microfibre hair towel and gently squeeze your hair. Keep your iron use to a minimum and choose the cooler setting on your hairdryer.
Colour and Bleach: Chemical treatments should always be carried out professionally, as this minimizes the risk of possible hair damage. Ask your NEWSHA hairdresser about our Colorwatch System for intensive protection when dyeing or the Bondi Bleach System for lightening with the greatest possible hair protection.
Don't give split ends a chance at all: Get your hair cut regularly – every 3-4 months – to keep it healthy and prevent split ends.
